About me... I do this blogging thing every now and again. I am not sure if I am even getting it right - but it's an outlet :)
I am passionate about reading and so I write a lot of reviews.

It has been a good few years since I have actually had a memorable Valentines Day…
I don’t think the last two even three Valentines Days’ during my 5 year relationship with Mark were anything to write home about… I don’t think it was celebrated for financial reasons mainly but also amongst other things… Not being able to remember – that’s a sign that the times were rough – looking back on it now… The first two years were a different story.. Roses, teddy bears, romantic dinners… that love faded away and it hurts to think about it..
Even last year after the break-up things were in limbo.. But this year things were a little different – yay
I will remember it for a few reasons…
Oscar Pistorius for one… No comment…
My feel good valentines reasons are as follows:
We were given a marshmallow chocolate hearts from the company 🙂 and each of us was asked to vote for a person in the office who was thought to be needing “a hug” the most. The announcement was made in the afternoon and came with a surprise spa voucher for the winner plus mini cakes for the rest of us J. Tyran (art director and all round good guy) won the prize – totally deserved!
My good friend and colleague Alison Mellon also gave me some of her home-made chocolates #winning
I even gave some love back by handing out a few made up some gift packs consisting of two shortbread slices wrapped up in cellophane and ribbon to some of the people who count in the office – Zoi, Ali, Louise and Sarah Munro…
We were all sent an email on Wednesday and requested to give an anonymous compliment to someone in the office. Barry wrote the code and everyone was sent a different person to give a compliment to. I sent one to Sam B – hope she liked it…
And I got a really nice anonymous compliment – from MJ himself (he told me afterwards) 🙂
I also got a number of Valentines messages including rose pics (corny yes I know) from a few boys on BBM and Whatsapp, which made me smile 🙂
My only disappointment of the day – in terms of valentines love – was that I did not get any messages from Jay…
And he was actually the only person I was really looking forward to getting a Valentine’s Day message from.
Granted he is in the US of A and the time zones are completely out of whack.. but the least he could have done is reply to my Valentine’s wishes with a thank you and/or wished me back..
I sent him a good night message before I went to sleep and was a little bit sad…
When I woke up this morning I checked my phone before I was even awake and this is the message he sent me – at about 4 in the morning
“Happy Happy – sorry baby crazy day – I am so home sick… Wish I was home. Miss you. Sleep tight”
Cue my happy face 🙂
And yes, in case you missed the just of this… I do have a new man in my life.. so lets concentrate on that… Onwards and upwards xxx
