Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

“I’d never given much thought to how I would die– though I”d had reason enough in the last few months– but even if I had, I would not have imagined it like this. I stared without breathing across the long room, into the dark eyes of the hunter, and he looked pleasantly back at me. Surely it was a good way to die, in the place of someone else, someone you loved. Noble, even. That ought to count for something. I knew that if I”d never gone to Forks, I wouldn’t be facing death now. But, terrified as I was, I couldn’t bring myself to regret the decision. When life offers you a dream so far beyond any of your expectations, it”s not reasonable to grieve when it comes to an end. The hunter smiled in a friendly way as he sauntered forward to kill me……

“About three things i was absolutely positive. First Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him, and i didn’t know how dominant that part may be, that thirsted for my blood. And third, i was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.”

My thoughts:

Surprise surprise.. Yes I read Twilight.. Me of all people.. It never really interested me before.. I have not watched any of the blockbusters although I do know a bit about the characters who played the protagonists in the movie from all the celebrity gossip 🙂 – that doesn’t mean I was interested in the book/movie franchise…

However, my sister lent me the book to read and although I was not keen initially, it has been a great source of distraction for me as the last two weeks have been a little tough.

To be honest it took a while to get into, but I ultimately got hooked and couldn’t stop reading… It’s a beautiful, unique love story. Made me feel like my life is way too boring; but at the same time made me feel like I could handle not fitting in with the normalness that everyone else is a part of if my destiny could be even 5% of the abnormal that is part of Bella and Edward.
