Review: Gravity

It was raining yesterday and I couldn’t go horse riding and my dad had two tickets to go watch a movie. So we decided to go. Having no idea what was even showing, it was a bit challenging. The last two movies I watched were Harry Potter Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,  and Fast and Furious 6 respectively. Shows how often I go to movies right..

So I went onto the slow, confusing website that is numetro.co.za and read some reviews for the movies that were showing at Lakeside Mall…

Not a great selection..

  • After Earth
  • Grown Ups
  • The Heat
  • Now You See Me
  • Percy Jackson: Sea Monsters (um ok)
  • RIPD
  • The Smurfs
  • We’re the Millers
  • 2x South African movies
  • Gravity

Basically: Action, SciFi, Kids, Comedy..

Between my dad and I we decided on Gravity – starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney.

Gravity is a 2013 3D science fiction thriller and space drama film co-written, co-produced, co-edited and directed by Alfonso Cuarón. Wikipedia

Firstly there were no trailers shown, secondly the first few minutes had the screen overlapping which ruined the entire experience for me and thirdly the sound was not great at all…
But in terms of the actual screenplay, I enjoyed it, even though it was sad. The story was deep and thought provoking and beautifully executed.
