Anna Browne is an ordinary woman living an ordinary life. Her day job as a receptionist in bustling London isn’t exactly her dream, yet she has everything she wants. But someone thinks Anna Browne deserves more…
When a parcel addressed to Anna Browne arrives, she has no idea who has sent it. Inside she finds a beautiful gift – one that is designed to be seen. And so begins a series of incredible deliveries, each one bringing Anna further out of the shadows and encouraging her to become the woman she was destined to be. As Anna grows in confidence, others begin to notice her – and her life starts to change.
But who is sending the mysterious gifts, and why?

I read this book while on holiday in Mauritius. I found it in the library made up from guests visiting the hotel. I needed this escapism. It was the perfect book for my state of mind.
I haven’t read a book in ages. All year in fact – the last book I read having been Things I want my daughters to know – which I finished at the beginning of the year (started reading it on holiday in Cape Town). See the common theme with reading and holidays 🙂
This book was just want I needed. A pick-me-up. A story about a quiet kind person who by just being herself and being kind was given an opportunity to grow in confidence by being given anonymous gifts – random acts of kindness. I loved the character of the Anna Browne and the manner in which she transformed throughout the story.
It was beautifully crafted, completely realistic and had a perfect happy ending.
