My new saddle and the saddle fitting

It is here 🙂 I finally have my own saddle… Amber finally has a saddle of her own and I don’t need to borrow one from the stable yard anymore! YAY!

I organised for Kim from Equestrian House to come to Banbury Stables on Friday to fit the saddle on Amber 🙂

I could not be there unfortunately as it is very difficult for me to get time off work but my dad was there to make sure everything went ok and to bring the saddle home.

It would have better if I had been there though as Kim needed to see me in the saddle on the horse to make it fitted both me and Amber properly. She has said she will come on a weekend sometime to have another look though 🙂

My dad chose all the accessories for me and in the end I got the following:

  • a beautiful brown leather 17″ GP Santa Cruz saddle
  • brown stirrup leathers to match
  • a sheepskin saddle pad 🙂
  • a leather and sheepskin girth
  • a crop 🙂

On Saturday my dad decided to not go to bowls in the afternoon and instead came with me to stables to help me with the stirrups and stirrup leathers and to watch me lunge and ride Amber to see how the saddle looked and felt for the first time!!

I am super chuffed and super excited and look forward to many happy (and comfortable) hours in the saddle!!

A very big thank you goes to Greg – owner of Equestrian House – for giving me the opportunity to work for this amazing horsey present and to Kim for coming to fit it for me 🙂

Onwards and upwards!
